Ah April. The fourth month of the year can have a subdued feeling but these product launches definitely lightened the mood. There were only a few releases this week but they deliver some much needed excitement.

I’ve been thinking about beauty influencers that post creative content and value honesty when reviewing products. These are the influencers that deserve a collaboration with brands; they have shown their devotion to the brand along with demonstrating the products with high aptitude but not succumbing to the temptation of giving a product a rave review when it actually sucks just to stay on the PR list

to create the Through My Eyes
collection which launched on December 26th
. The newest collection features an eyeshadow palette and lip bundle. There is a full collection option for $39 or you could spend a little more for the PR box for $50 (it includes a kaleidoscope). Either option you choose, the Colourpop x Iluvsarahii collection is available only on Colourpop’s site

This collaboration came out of nowhere but I also kind of expected another collaboration to drop before the end of the year. While Becky G’s collaboration with Colourpop launched last week, this week, for the third time this year, Colourpop collaborated with Kathleen Lights. Continue reading “Colourpop Is At It Again!”
Colourpop Cosmetics dropped a teaser on Monday November 5th with a photo of popular beauty influencer Bretman Rock. Everyone immediately knew that this meant a collaboration, but nothing could have prepared me for a déjà vu moment.

All of these collaborations are too much. There, I said it. I love seeing smaller influencers gain exposure but goodness gracious! There has been so many collaborations within the past few months and I’m tired of seeing influencers create similar looking eyeshadow palettes and highlighters. Give me variety! Show me a unique concept! Is it too much to ask?
In the last article I discussed a few releases from this week and the upcoming launches that are being teased via social media. Makeup Revolution posted a picture on Instagram of several eyeshadow shades, leaving fans eagerly anticipating the new palette. Imagine the surprise when MUR dropped yet another collaboration with no real warning and earlier than their usual Wednesday launches. This time the brand collaborated with an influencer from the Czech Republic named Petra Vancurová.
A little background on Petra: She is a beauty Youtuber (petralovelyhair) with a modest following of 236k subscribers. All of her videos are in her native language, with her first English-language video being released today (September 7th) on Revolution’s Youtube channel. I had never heard of her before but this is why I love Makeup Revolution; they are always looking for new influencers to work with, effectively helping them gain recognition.
Petra created a stunning eyeshadow palette that is different from the other collaborations released by MUR. She finally gave the shade range I’ve been waiting for all summer. In my honest opinion, a few of the colors in Petra’s palette are similar to the new Opposites Attract palette that E.l.f Cosmetics just launched but with subtle differences. Nonetheless, this newest collaboration with Petra has a unique aspect to it; the palette is double-sided.
The palette was conveniently designed to have both cool and warm tones in the same palette. Interestingly, all of the colors stand out to me, which is rare. I will buy the palette because I do like the concept of a double-sided palette, I like the color scheme, and it will be great for travel. You can grab the Makeup Revolution x Petra palette on their website for $17.

I first mentioned this latest collaboration by Makeup Revolution on the latest cosmetic launch roundup, spent three days in suspense, and it is finally here! Makeup Revolution x Emily Noel and the packaging is gorgeous!
Quick information session: Emily Noel is an American beauty influencer and one of the OG Youtubers, starting back in 2006. She has two channels but she does quick reviews of makeup products on the “Beauty Express” channel. Ms. Noel boasts 917k subscribers on her main channel while the beauty channel contains 219k. She also holds the honor of being the first American influencer to work with Revolution.
On to the products. As with Imogen Hudson’s collaboration that was revealed three weeks ago, Emily has also released two products. The first palette, The Wants” is the eyeshadow palette, boasting a larger size than we have seen with previous palettes from Makeup Revolution. The Wants contains twenty-four eyeshadow shades, with a full range of both warm tones and cool tones. I am very impressed with this palette and Emily really put a lot of thought into this palette. The Wants is $20 and is available on Makeup Revolution’s website and Ulta’s website.
|The second product is The Needs. Emily describes this palette as the “greatest hits palette’, meaning that she combined the best products from Makeup Revolution, gave it her signature spin, and voila! The Needs was born. There is a contour/bronzer shade, highlighting shade, two blushes, and a translucent powder to cover the face aspect of makeup. She also included eyeshadows with shades that are perfect a neutral look on the go. The Needs retails for $15 and, like The Wants, is available on Makeup Revolution’s website and Ulta’s website.
|I like the ideas behind both palettes but I, personally, would/will get The Wants because most of the colors are what I am missing in my eyeshadow collection (I have so many face products). Are you spoiling yourself with this collaboration? Give me your opinion in the comments and make sure to subscribe for the latest here at The Trendy Wallet. Excuse my enthusiasm 🙂
Makeup Revolution has collaborated with Sophdoesnails, MakeupbyTammi, and Carmimua for the last year with each person releasing their own palette (except Sophie, who released two palettes, a highlighter palette, and three lipsticks).
Tammi Clarke released her palette called Tropical Paradise back on May 11th of this year while Carmimua released his Kiss of Fire palette on May 18th.
